Late Season Rainfall Puts Plot in Great Position for Spring 2019

Friday night August 24th, West Central Illinois received several hours of steady rainfall that provided a final finishing push to crops, including soybeans and corn.  As the 2018 crop pushes towards final maturity and harvest, the late season rainfall helps add to kernel fill on corn and increase bean size within the pods.

Early yield reports for corn are indicating excellent yields and good test weights.  The First Harvest Farm Management plot is rapidly moving towards maturity with harvest likely to be around the 15th of September.
