The First Harvest plot recorded .8″ inch rain during the last 24 hours. While the rainfall was very welcome, it was not enough to really help recharge the soil levels, which are getting very dry, fast. The corn looks very good overall, however, the dry weather is likely taking a bit off the top yield potential. Several of the hybrids in the plot are ready to tassel, and with a cooling trend over the next couple of days, should be beneficial to pollination, before the heat returns later next week.
