What a Difference A Week Makes!!

Check out the photos 8 days apart. On Palm Sunday, April 14th, Pike County received approximately 1 1/2 to 2 inches of wet heavy snow, stopping all early field operations including tillage not completed last fall as well as pre-planting anhydrous ammonia applications! It took until late in the week until field conditions were acceptable to get back in the fields. A brief shower over Easter weekend again slowed down efforts to get the plot ready for planting.
On April 22nd, field conditions improved enough to get the plot nitrogen application completed.

Winter makes one last stand–April 14, 2019!
